3D Printing Clay Workshop: Create Original Ceramic Designs
Explore the exciting world of ceramic 3D printing in this hands-on introductory workshop.
You’ll learn how to:
- Prepare and operate a 3D clay printer
- Design a small object in Rhino (or your preferred 3D software)
- Create your toolpaths and G-code for the printer
relax while the printer does all the dirty work for you :)
This is an introductory course, there is no pre-knowledge in 3D modeling or 3D printing required, just bring your own computer and preferably a mouse to the course and we will tackle the rest together.
Please install Rhino (free 3-month trial available online) on your computer before the class. If you’re more comfortable with another 3D modeling software, feel free to use it instead.
You’ll design small objects like cups, bowls, or sculptures with a maximum printing time of 15
minutes to ensure everyone’s designs are completed during the workshop. Glazing and post-processing are not included, but you can choose from our studio’s beautiful glazes, and we’ll finish your piece for pickup two weeks later. You can also opt to turn your creations into candles with a wax fill.
DAY & TIME: upcoming this May
Class Size: 6 students
